10 Reasons to do a Divemaster Internship

Make your office a sunny beach!

We are Divespot, part of Atlantis Group, situated in Los Cristianos, the south of Tenerife. The area offers an excellent place for divers and future Divemasters, both for work and daily life.

1. PADI INSTRUCTORS

One of our main focuses is our Divemaster Internships. You’ll be guided & trained step-by-step following the PADI Standards, in theory, practical skills, and approaching clients. You’ll receive more and more autonomy over time regarding your learning progress, professionalism & personal judgement.

2. LEARN WITH REAL CLIENTS

As a future Divemaster, you will immediately become a member of the Atlantis team, which means you will also have responsibilities as an ambassador of our company. We will teach you how to interact with clients, and give you many opportunities to put those skills to practice.

3. THE BEST CLIMATE IN EUROPE

We have the best climate in Europe: 22°C in the winter and around 32°C in the summer.
We dive and recruit Divemasters all year around. Regardless of when you come, you will always enjoy great weather.

4. LIFE & LANDSCAPES UNDERWATER

Three million years ago, the Volcano Teide erupted. The meeting of the lava with the sea created beautiful rock formations underwater, which offer spectacular views and places for small and big animals to hide. We have whales, dolphins, rays, turtles, octopuses, exotic fish, barracudas, nudibranchs, corals, anemones… And on the surface? We have amazing places to visit with incredible sights to see.

Ocean and mountains – 30 minutes from each other.

5. VARIETY OF DIVING SPOTS

Tenerife offers various types of dive spots with different entrance/exit procedures, different depths, different types of ocean floor, caves, wrecks, boat dives, shore dives, drift dives… Everything needed to become a multiskilled divemaster.

6. BECOME A MULTI-SKILLED DIVEMASTER

Extra non-dive related training is also part of our Divemaster internship: animation, sales, social media, photo and video tricks, kayaking with dolphins, equipment, maintenance, and much more!

7. MANY YEARS IN TENERIFE

Our dive center was established in 2014. After years of exploration and experience, we know the best dive spots on the island, we have experienced Instructors and Divemasters, we have many regular customers, and we are still growing every year.

8. OUR LOCATION: THE BEACH OF LOS CHRISTIANOS

Less than 1 minute to have your foot in the water! We are situated in Los Cristianos, one of the most touristic places of the island, next to Playa de Las Americas. This means on days off, there is always something to do: lying on the beach, all kinds of watersports, Siam Park (the top rated waterpark on Tripadvisor in the world), bars, karting, shopping, beach sports, hiking, visiting national parks, meeting new people, doing dives with us (free of charge) or simply renting a car or scooter for ~10EUR and just going on an adventure on the scenic roads of the island.

9. LOW TAX RATE

We have a very low tax rate in the Canary Islands. VAT is not applied, but there is a sales tax (IGIC) with a general rate of 5%. This gives you a good opportunity to buy diving equipment and many other things on the island. It’s also a good reason to eventually pass your Open Water Instructor Course here, without worrying too much about other finances. We work closely with the best Course Directors of the Canary Islands, and every year we have some of our Divemasters take the next step to the Instructor level. The sky is the limit.

10. WE DO IT FOR FUN!

Last but not least, we do it for fun! Life is short and we are aware of this. Therefore, we do our best to make each day as beautiful as it can be for our team and customers. A smile is contagious, and so are enthusiasm and happiness. As Divemasters and Instructors, we must lead by example.

EXTRA: KAYAKING!

Good news, we do other water sports! A few years ago, we added kayaking with dolphins &
snorkeling with turtles (from the kayak) to our activities. Another great adventure for our clients and our guides. Next to diving, these activities have been a major success. Our future Divemasters have the opportunity to do this activity for free and to become a kayaking guide. Why not?
